Traditional African Bronze Casting: 4 Day workshop

Picture

In Traditional Africa Bronze Casting, students will learn the art of lost wax bronze, as it is done in Burkina Faso. Lost wax is a process that has been in use for thousands of years all around the world. We will build small sculptures out of wax, and then learn the skills of mold making. We will pour molten metal into the molds, making bronze forms. Each student will go home with a small bronze piece of original artwork. This class is a unique experience for people of all experience levels with casting, because the way we will work is with very different materials then most contemporary foundries in the US.

300.00 Plus 13.00 per lb of finished sculpture
